Vicki Keith has set 16 world records and received more than 41 awards and honours as a marathon swimmer, prominently being the first person and only female to complete a double crossing of Lake Ontario in 1987. One year later, Keith became the first to swim across all five Great Lakes.
"We have very talented and knowledgeable professionals in Kingston," stated Harold Parsons, the chief executive officer at BGC South East, in a news release. "Vicki Keith is one of these distinguished leaders we get to call a part of our community. Now, we are humbled to also call her a part of the Boys and Girls Club."
Throughout her career and volunteerism, Keith coached young athletes with physical disabilities, many of whom have set Canadian records at elite levels of competition and world records in open water swimming. She developed the largest Para swim team in Canada, becoming a renowned advocate for building positive sport environments and creating inclusive athletic opportunities.
