Peel Regional Police are appealing to members of the public to assist in identifying a wanted man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a woman in broad daylight in Brampton.
Authorities said at around 3 p.m. on Nov. 22, 2024, the woman was walking in the area of Williams Parkway and Murray Street when a man approached her.
It's alleged he made conversation with the victim and asked her to come with him several times.
Police said when she refused, the man grabbed her, leading to a struggle. The suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened her, but she managed to call 911, prompting the man to flee in a black Hyundai Elantra.
The woman was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as an East Indian male, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a Punjabi accent, dark complexion, and slim build. He is approximately 25 to 28 years old, with short black curly hair, a short goatee, and brown eyes.
Authorities released a composite sketch of the male suspect, hoping it would help identify him. The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information is asked to contact police.
