In Loving Memory of Judy Ringstad
Judy passed away on January 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was born in Prince Rupert in 1949, the daughter of Robert and Anne Kelsey.
Judy is survived by her children, Jamie Barrie (Tracey) and Tina Lussier (Terry), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Kelsey, Haden (Holly), Conor (Carly), and Mackenzie, along with great-grandchildren Mason, Olive, Poppy, and Bowen.
Judy took immense pride in her family, loving them deeply and unconditionally. She is also survived by her sisters Carol and Linda (Don), along with nieces, nephews, and their children.
Judy married David Ringstad in 1992, and together they enjoyed many years of happiness. She embraced his daughters, Alessandra, Kim, and Kelly and cherished time spent with their families.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, David, and her great-grandson, Chase.
Judy had a successful career in the fashion and accessory business, working in both Prince Rupert and Vancouver. Her career took her on incredible travels, many of which she shared with her loved ones. Notably, she took her grandsons to Las Vegas, made several trips to China, attended the Salt Lake City Olympics to support her stepdaughter Kelly, cheered on the World Juniors in Czechoslovakia, and enjoyed a river cruise in France.
Judy was a member of the Princess Hikers in Vancouver and with them enjoyed many adventures, including hot air ballooning in Turkiye and taking helicopter rides to mountain peaks in BC. Her travels were a true reflection of her zest for life and her curiosity about the world.
Judy was also a talented and creative chef. Cooking for her family and friends brought her immense joy, and her culinary creations will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of enjoying them.
The family created lasting memories at their cabin on Lakelse Lake, a special place that will always hold a cherished spot in their hearts. A family gathering will be held at the lake at a later date to celebrate Judy's life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Parkinson Canada at www.parkinson.ca, in Judy's memory.
