EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin claims that $20 billion in tax dollars were wasted by the Biden administration and outlines plans for recovery and increased government accountability.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Lee Zeldin stated on Wednesday that his team has identified $20 billion in taxpayer funds that the Biden administration allegedly mismanaged.
Zeldin referenced a video that circulated two months ago, in which a political appointee from the Biden EPA mentioned 'tossing gold bars off the Titanic' in reference to hastily disbursing taxpayer dollars before Inauguration Day. He explained, “The 'gold bars' represent tax dollars, and the phrase 'tossing them off the Titanic' indicates that the Biden administration was aware of the waste.”
According to Zeldin, the EPA intends to recover these 'gold bars' that have reportedly been parked at an unnamed financial institution.
He remarked that this situation marked the first of its kind in the history of the EPA, noting it was deliberately designed to allocate funds rapidly with minimal oversight before Inauguration Day.
Zeldin asserted there is "zero reason to suspect any wrongdoing by the bank," but believes the agreement with that institution should "be instantly terminated," and all funds should be returned immediately. He emphasized that the EPA must reclaim responsibility for these funds, adding that his team will thoroughly review each amount distributed.
He declared, “The era of carelessly funneling large sums of money to far-left activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equity is over.” Zeldin insisted that the American public deserves a more transparent and accountable government than it has experienced in the past four years.
Zeldin plans to escalate this matter to the inspector general's office and collaborate with the Department of Justice to aid President Donald Trump in regaining oversight. He concluded, "We will regain control of the government as we pursue the next steps. In alignment with President Trump's vision, we aim to pave the way for a new Golden Age of American success for every citizen."
