Portland Trail Blazers Winning Streak Ends Against Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 118-108, ending their four-game winning streak and increasing their dominance in the Western Conference.
The Portland Trail Blazers' four-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday night at the Moda Center, as the Oklahoma City Thunder secured a 118-108 victory.
Behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's stellar performance, the Thunder not only added to their dominance over the Blazers but also extended their winning streak against Portland to 15 games.
This win pushed the Thunder's season record to an impressive 37-8, keeping them firmly atop the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers, now sitting at 17-29, remain 13th in the West as their struggles continue.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again proved why he's a frontrunner in the MVP race this season. The Thunder star dazzled with a 35-point performance, adding five rebounds, one assist, and three steals. He also made two of his four three-point attempts. By halftime, Shai had already racked up 17 points and two steals.
In addition to his scoring, Shai reached another milestone, surpassing Kawhi Leonard for 54th place in assists among active players. His career total of 2,139 assists places him 420th on the all-time list.
Isaiah Hartenstein made a notable return for the Thunder after missing five games. He contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in 33 minutes of action. Jalen Williams added 24 points, five rebounds, and eight assists in the win.
Despite the loss, the Blazers saw standout performances from several players. Deni Avdija led the team with 28 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Scoot Henderson added 25 points in 30 minutes. Toumani Camara added 24 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
The Thunder will face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers will aim to bounce back against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.
