Majors secure third consecutive victory in overtime against Cubs
It was the third-straight victory from the Majors who squeaked out a 5-4 overtime decision against the Cubs in New Liskeard Saturday night.
More importantly, the four points allowed the Majors (18-8-1-0) to claim sole possession of second place in the Great North U18 League standings, four points up on the Sudbury U18 Wolves (16-9-0-1) and the Sault Ste. Marie U18 Greyhounds (13-6-6-1), although both rivals have a game in hand.
Sunday's back-and-forth contest saw the U16 Greyhounds get on the scoreboard first, as Nathan Watts netted his ninth goal of the season 52 seconds into the contest.
But the Majors got that one back less than a minute later, as Evan Katic scored the first of his two goals on the afternoon and 10th of the campaign.
