Two Injured in Serious Apartment Argument in Montreal
Two people were seriously injured during an argument that escalated in an apartment in the Lachine borough of Montreal.
Emergency services received a 911 call Sunday around 4:30 a.m. about a woman who was injured in a home on Duff Court St., near Esther-Blondin St.
The victim, a 65-year-old woman, apparently took refuge at a neighbour's house. She was injured in the upper body, possibly by a sharp object, said Const. Mariane Allaire Morin, a spokesperson for the Montreal police.
The woman was in critical condition when taken to a hospital, but her life is no longer in danger, according to Allaire Morin.
As for the suspect, he was still in the apartment when the police arrived, Allaire Morin said. The scene was contained for nearly two hours before the suspect was arrested by our officers.
The 28-year-old man was also taken to a hospital to treat upper-body injuries. His life is not in danger.
A perimeter has been set up to protect the scene and facilitate the work of investigators.
