The Cucina & Amore brand Pesto Alla Genovese Basil is being recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for containing undeclared allergens. Some batches of this pesto, sold on Amazon, were found to contain Brazil nuts, pine nuts, and milk, none of which were mentioned on the ingredient label.
This oversight poses a significant risk to consumers with allergies to these nuts and milk. The recall notice strongly advises consumers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected jars.
The specific product is packaged in 225-gram jars and can be identified by its best before date of September 2026.
