Three individuals have been arrested following the discovery of a drug lab in Edmonton, which led to the seizure of nearly half a million dollars in drugs including fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Three individuals are facing a lengthy list of charges after the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) uncovered a drug lab in the city's northeast, seizing nearly half a million dollars' worth of narcotics including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
The investigation commenced in November 2024, initiated by the northeast beats team in conjunction with the gang and drug enforcement unit, focusing on a group suspected of trafficking drugs from the British Columbia Lower Mainland.
The Grande Prairie RCMP also assisted with the investigation.
On January 28, police executed searches on two hotel rooms in Edmonton, a vehicle, and a residence near 117 Avenue and 87 Street in the Alberta Avenue neighbourhood, where they discovered a fentanyl processing operation.
During these searches, authorities confiscated several items, leading to the dismantling of the fentanyl lab by the EPS clandestine laboratory team.
Two men, Brett Ogilvie, 43, and Owen Lloyd, 21, along with a woman, Robin Kelley, 47, all from Edmonton, were arrested.
A total of 27 criminal charges have been laid against them, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
