Trump Proposes U.S. Takeover of Gaza Strip During Press Conference
President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening declared that the United States "will take over the Gaza Strip," stating, "we'll own it." This controversial statement was made during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the East Room at the White House.
Trump emphasized that all Palestinians currently residing in Gaza, which is home to nearly 2 million people, should be relocated to other countries in the Middle East. He articulated a vision to re-develop Gaza, a region devastated by ongoing conflict with Israel.
"Gaza is a hellhole," Trump remarked, highlighting the dire conditions in the area.
Netanyahu reacted positively to the suggestion of a U.S. takeover, stating, "I think it's something that could change history," and added, "And I think it's really worth pursuing this avenue."
