Brent Musburger links Taylor Swift's appearances to Chiefs Super Bowl success
Brent Musburger, a prominent sports commentator, has made an unconventional prediction regarding the Kansas City Chiefs' quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl title. He credits the girlfriend of star tight end Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, as a significant contributing factor to the team's success.
During a recent episode of "What the Football," Musburger stated, "I don't look at stats and things like that. I look for offbeat stories to pick my winners." His fascination with trends possibly leads him to this unique correlation.
Musburger noted that Taylor Swift has attended nine Kansas City Chiefs games this year, and the team has won all nine, suggesting a winning streak that ties back to her presence. He remarked, "If you go back to last year, I believe the winning streak with Taylor Swift in attendance is around 13 or 14 ... and that's one of the reasons."
In addition to Swift's influence, Musburger highlighted another factor for the Chiefs' potential victory. He referred to a phenomenon known as the "Curse of Cousins." According to Musburger, no playoff team has ever won the Super Bowl after losing to quarterback Kirk Cousins in a regular season game. The Philadelphia Eagles, who lost to Cousins’ Atlanta Falcons early in the season, may be facing this curse.
Despite the Chiefs’ earlier victory over the Falcons in a close game, Musburger playfully speculated on the implications had the Falcons won.
This year's Super Bowl could see an easier travel schedule for Swift now that her Eras Tour has concluded, which Musburger believes might further support the Chiefs in their title pursuit.
