Sapporo Snow Festival Features Sculpture of Shohei Ohtani
The Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan has unveiled a sculpture of baseball star Shohei Ohtani, celebrating his connection to the sport and his dog, Decoy.
The Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan showcases remarkable sculptures including one of Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani.
This annual event, held in Hokkaido, has a history dating back to 1950 and includes approximately 200 sculptures, as noted by the Japan National Tourism Organization.
This year, Ohtani is depicted with his dog, Decoy, resting on his shoulder. This is not their first appearance at the festival; last year, the duo was also featured with Decoy gazing up at a smiling Ohtani.
Ohtani is not alone in receiving this honor. Former New York Yankees player Hideki Matsui had a sculpture created in his likeness back in 2004, shortly after his rookie season in Major League Baseball.
