XPeng G7 electric SUV set for Australian launch in 2026
XPeng is launching its G7 electric SUV in Australia in 2026 after a domestic debut in April. The vehicle promises advanced features, including impressive AI-driven technologies and rapid charging.
The upcoming XPeng G7 pure-electric SUV is gearing up for a Chinese launch in April this year, with plans for an Australian arrival in 2026 confirmed by the brand's local importer.
Recent images of the undisguised G7 have emerged, showcasing the vehicle on public roads, indicating its readiness to compete with established brands like Tesla, Hyundai, and Kia.
Studio images previously released highlight the car's exterior designs, while interior shots reveal a spacious cockpit equipped with a large 15.6-inch central multimedia screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument display.
XPeng claims the G7 could become the "most capable SUV in the 250,000 class this year," estimating a domestic price of approximately 250,000 yuan (about USD 54,800).
Focusing on aerodynamics, the G7 aims to enhance efficiency and range with features like a sculpted front splitter, flush door handles, and a sizeable rear spoiler.
Riding on the same 'SEPA' platform as its siblings, the G6 and P7+, the G7 boasts 800V electric architecture for ultra-fast charging, allowing rapid charge between 10-80% in just 20 minutes.
With a rear-wheel drive powered by a 218kW electric motor, XPeng offers options for short and long-range battery packs manufactured by China Aviation Lithium Battery (CALB).
Measuring 4892mm in length, 1925mm in width, and 1655mm in height, the G7 is slightly larger than the Tesla Model Y but shares its wheelbase of 2890mm.
Additionally, the G7 will feature XPeng's advanced AI-driven driver assistance systems, including the Hawk AI, designed to facilitate self-driving capabilities.
