Urgent Recall of VTronix Digital Drawing Tablet for Children by Coles Supermarkets
Coles supermarkets across Australia have recalled the VTronix Digital Drawing Tablet due to safety concerns regarding button batteries that could be accessed by young children.
The VTronix Digital Drawing Tablet designed for children has been urgently recalled by Coles supermarkets across Australia.
The toys do not comply with button battery safety regulations and could potentially cause death if the buttons are accessed by young children. The Product Safety recall issued on Thursday highlighted that "the button/coin batteries may not be adequately secured and may be accessible to young children."
There is a significant risk of choking, severe internal burn injuries, or even death if young children are able to access these batteries and swallow or insert them into their bodies. Such severe injuries can occur within two hours or less of exposure.
The products, supplied by IFI Australia Pty Ltd, were manufactured in China and were sold at Coles supermarkets across Australia between December 30, 2024, and January 10, 2025.
The affected model, RX-YST-DB24, was available in blue and pink colours. Consumers have been advised to stop using the product immediately and ensure it is kept out of reach of children.
A full refund is available to customers who return the product to the supermarket where it was purchased.
