Tasmanians are invited to participate in watch parties across the state for the Hobart Hurricanes' BBL title match. Free public transport and family-friendly activities will be available.

Tasmanians right across the state will be able to unite to watch the Hobart Hurricanes vie for the BBL title.

Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, announced that a number of watch parties have been locked in, along with free public transport to the game.

"Across the state there will be watch parties at Launceston's Silverdome, the Princes Wharf Forecourt in Hobart, and Devonport's Market Square will show the match on the big screen," Minister Duigan said.

"These events will be family-friendly, with various activities to celebrate Tassie hosting the final and of course, the Hurricanes' fantastic season.

"To help people get to and from Monday's sold-out game, we've also organised four free additional ferry services between Brooke St Pier and Bellerive.

"Ferries will be running every 15 minutes and the City of Hobart have organised a 'park-and-ride' from the Regatta Grounds. So, I encourage everyone to take a walk through the city, grab a drink and then jump on the ferry to the game."

Minister Duigan is encouraging Tasmanians to turn the State purple wherever they can.

"No one loves seeing their home sporting teams shine on the national stage more than Tasmanians. From the windows of small, family-owned grocery stores to the Tasman Bridge, our state is going to back our team to the hilt," Minister Duigan said.

"Sport is a great community connector, from participating, spectating and other involvement, and we're supporting it through these events.

"Physical activity benefits individuals and our community as a whole and we know seeing our sporting stars achieve great things encourages more people to get involved in sport."

Under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we're making Tasmania the best place to live, work and raise a family, which is why we're backing this family-friendly event.

Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said: "We're thrilled to partner with the State Government to bring a live site to PW1 on Monday night."

"For Hurricanes fans without a ticket, this is the next best thing -- soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the waterfront's hospitality venues before cheering on the team and then (hopefully) celebrate the win post-match."

"We're also teaming up to provide free park and ride to connect up with the free ferry services, with buses running continuously from the Regatta Grounds to Brooke St Pier."

"This is a small way the City of Hobart can support fans and help everyone get behind the Hurricanes as they chase their first Big Bash title."

WATCH PARTIES

PW1 will open to the public, with the livestream on the forecourt from 6pm. Seats and bean bags and shade will be available, but people are welcome to bring their own comfortable camping seat. There will be a few food vans on site selling food and beverages. Access to the site is subject to capacity.

Launceston's Silverdome will be accessible from 6:30pm, with some food and beverages available for purchase.

Market Square in Devonport will also host a screening, but space is strictly limited. People are advised to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

More details on the ferries are available from the authorities.
