Queensland man dies after mobility scooter crash
A 79-year-old man has died in hospital following critical injuries from a crash involving his mobility scooter and an Audi Q5 in Birkdale, Queensland.
A 79-year-old Queensland man has died after he was hospitalised with critical injuries last Monday.
He was riding a mobility scooter near the intersection of Old Cleveland Rd and Buckingham St at Birkdale, 19km east of Brisbane, when he was allegedly struck by an Audi Q5 about 11.30am.
He was fighting for life as he was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he died on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Birkdale man behind the wheel of the Audi was not physically injured in the crash.
Queensland Police are now appealing for witnesses, as investigations continue.
