Kelsey Parker Reflects on Bittersweet Journey to Motherhood After Loss of Tom Parker
Kelsey Parker reflects on her pregnancy journey, expressing mixed emotions about expecting a baby after the loss of her husband, Tom Parker. She describes the news as bittersweet yet feels supported by family and signs from Tom.
Kelsey Parker, the widow of singer Tom Parker, who passed away on March 22 after a long battle with a brain tumour, has shared her mixed emotions about her pregnancy with boyfriend Will Lindsay. Although she is "excited" to be expecting another child, she describes the news as "bittersweet", reflecting on how life could have been different.
In an interview with Britain's OK! magazine, Kelsey revealed, "Tom and I always said we wanted four -- but life had other plans." She continues, "So yes, this is amazing but also bittersweet. The joys of finding out I'm pregnant and moving forward with my life, while thinking, 'My life could have been so different.'"
Kelsey expressed that while she is overjoyed, she is also grappling with complex emotions. She believes that Tom has given her his blessing to move on and frequently sends signs that he is still watching over her.
"I'm very spiritual and so is Will. Especially after he lost his dad, he believes in signs from loved ones, like me - and I've had so many from Tom," she said. "Will's seen them too - he doesn't think I'm crazy... There have been instances like lights and TVs turning on by themselves that make us feel connected to him."
Despite the grief she still feels for Tom, Kelsey knows that he would not have wanted her to "live in sadness." "For me, I feel like everything's meant to be, I'm just trying to find joy. I love my children - they've got me through the worst times. So I feel like I've been blessed with another," she added.
Kelsey also shared that her pregnancy was a "happy accident" and mentioned receiving immediate support from Tom's mother, Noreen, upon sharing the news. "Noreen is the most amazing lady. After Tom passed, she said to me, 'As long as you're happy Kels, whatever you do, we will always support you and be happy for you,'" Kelsey tearfully recalled.
