Water Main Break Closes Lanes on Spring Garden Street in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A water main break led to multiple lanes of traffic closing on Spring Garden Street in Greensboro, according to the City of Greensboro.
City officials say the eight-inch break left five customers without service and forced the closure of two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane on the 3700 block of Spring Garden Street from Merritt Drive to Cranbrook Street.
Crews are working to fix the repair and expect to be done by 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The city asks drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes. They have set up signs and traffic cones to help secure the scene.
The City of Greensboro is warning nearby residents to watch out for any potential discoloration or cloudy water coming from taps after the repairs. To flush out any impurities, officials say you can run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or the bathtub, until it is clear.
