Madonna Criticizes Trump's Executive Orders Impacting LGBTQ+ Rights
Fox News contributors Lisa Boothe and Ben Domenech reacted to celebrities, including pop star Madonna, who expressed their intent to leave America's political landscape following Vice President Kamala Harris' defeat on 'The Ingraham Angle.'
Madonna criticized the Trump administration's recent executive orders with a social media post in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. In her X post on Tuesday, the 66-year-old singer lamented, "It's so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years."
Accompanied by a pride flag and broken heart emojis, she encouraged her fans, "Don't give up the Fight!"
Her comments followed Trump's signing of an executive order titled "Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness," which prohibits transgender Americans from serving in the military.
Additionally, Trump recently enacted another executive order recognizing only two sexes—male and female—in all federal government areas, directing the government to adhere to biological sex instead of gender. While conservatives praised this decision as a return to common sense, critics condemned it.
Madonna, who has long supported the LGBTQ+ rights movement and was a vocal critic of Trump during his first term, made headlines in 2017 for a provocative speech at the Women's March in Washington, D.C. She expressed her frustration by stating, "I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House," acknowledging that such sentiments wouldn't effect change.
After Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton, Madonna described the outcome as devastating, saying it "felt like someone died," and expressed her desire to disrupt what she referred to as his parade.
