Trump Revokes Biden's Security Clearance and Intelligence Briefings
President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is revoking former President Joe Biden's security clearance and terminating his daily intelligence briefings. This action is described as payback for Biden's decision to end Trump's access to intelligence briefings in 2021.
The announcement was made via social media shortly after Trump arrived at Mar-a-Lago for the weekend. In his statement, Trump said, "There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden's Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings."
Trump referenced Biden's previous action in 2021 when Biden halted Trump's intelligence briefings following his role in the events leading to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. At that time, Biden had expressed concerns regarding Trump's "erratic" behavior.
In his post, Trump also mentioned the Hur Report from last year, which involved an investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents. He quoted the report claiming that Biden suffers from "poor memory" and cannot be trusted with sensitive information, even in his prime.
Trump concluded his message with, "I will always protect our National Security -- JOE, YOU'RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
