Trump to Dismiss Kennedy Center Board and Become Chairman
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will terminate several members of the Kennedy Center's board of trustees, including its current chair. He stated that a new board would be revealed soon, with himself as the chairman.
"I have decided to immediately terminate multiple individuals from the Board of Trustees, including the Chairman, who do not share our Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture," Trump mentioned in a social media post.
He went on to say, "We will soon announce a new Board, with an amazing Chairman, DONALD J. TRUMP!"
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, located in Washington, D.C., hosts over 2,000 events annually and serves as a memorial to former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. It is also the official residence of the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington National Opera.
