Affleck Revives DunKings for Super Bowl LIX Without Damon and Brady
Ben Affleck revived the DunKings for Super Bowl LIX, joined by Casey Affleck, Bill Belichick, and others, in a humorous coffee brand battle. Reactions varied from praise to criticism.
Ben Affleck brought back the DunKings for Super Bowl LIX, but he was missing his usual co-stars Matt Damon and Tom Brady. Instead, Affleck was joined by his brother, Casey Affleck, along with former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
The commercial featured Donnie Wahlberg, Jeremy Strong, and Affleck's former "Chasing Amy" co-stars, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith, known as Jay and Silent Bob.
This seven-minute "movie" showcased a battle between coffee brands titled "Java Jam."
During the ad, Ben expressed, "First the DunKings were pop stars and now the thing is diss tracks! Everyone is insulting each other, that's how you get successful," to which Casey replied, "I don't want to do it. You look stupid."
Ben then retorted, "This is why people say you are a difficult actor," leading to Casey's response of, "Nobody says that."
Affleck's last two Dunkin' commercials featured his now-ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez. The debut of "The DunKings" last year received praise after Damon, Brady, and Affleck interrupted JLo while she was at the studio.
One YouTube user commented, "Best Commercial of the Super Bowl HANDS DOWN. You put Ben and Matt on screen together, You always win."
Another user noted, "What up bronx!! That look JLo and Fat Joe gave Ben was hysterical. This is the best commercial ever."
However, some fans were less impressed with the remake. One user on X stated, "That Dunkin ad was horrible and Ben Affleck looks rough. His 42 divorces have caught up to him."
Another joked, "Does Jennifer Garner know Ben Affleck got out of his cage again and is terrorizing American on TV?"
Despite mixed reactions, one user acknowledged Affleck’s enduring love for Dunkin, stating, "One thing I can count on in this life is Ben Affleck loving his Dunkin."
Others praised the commercial, with one saying, "I would so watch a coffee brand performance off. LOL," and another writing, "This is why America runs on you," referencing Dunkin's famous slogan.
