Toronto Tempo appoints Monica Wright Rogers as first general manager
Toronto's WNBA team has reportedly chosen its first general manager.
ESPN's Shams Charania and Alexa Pilippou reported Wednesday that Monica Wright Rogers has been hired as the first GM of the Toronto Tempo.
Wright Rogers, 36, joins Toronto after serving as an assistant general manager with the Phoenix Mercury for the past two seasons.
She played seven seasons in the WNBA with the Lynx and Storm after being selected second overall in the 2010 draft. A guard, Wright Rogers averaged 7.3 points over her career and won two WNBA championships with the Lynx in 2011 and 2013.
The Toronto Tempo will debut in the WNBA in 2026. The club is being headed up by team president Teresa Resch and owner Larry Tanenbaum's Kilmer Sports Ventures.
