Raptors Continue Winning Streak with Victory Over Washington
The Toronto Raptors secured their fifth consecutive victory by defeating the Washington Wizards 106-82, marking a strong performance and a promising winning streak.
The Toronto Raptors showcased a commanding performance against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, defeating them 106-82. The Wizards struggled offensively, taking over five minutes to score a single point at home, marking a stark contrast to the Raptors' form.
This victory marks Toronto's fifth consecutive win, a feat not achieved since the late 2021-22 season under former coach Nick Nurse. During that time, Pascal Siakam was named to the third NBA All-Team, Fred VanVleet earned an All-Star selection, and Scottie Barnes was recognised as the Rookie of the Year. Currently, only Barnes and Chris Boucher remain from that roster.
With this latest win, the Raptors have now secured seven victories out of their last eight games and ensured their first month with a winning record since November 2023.
Scottie Barnes, the reigning Eastern Conference player of the week, led the team with 24 points. Jakob Poeltl contributed 12 points alongside six assists, while Davion Mitchell was efficient, scoring 10 points and not missing a shot, in addition to his nine assists. Furthermore, five other Raptors scored in double figures, showcasing the team's balanced offensive effort.
