John Yakabuski Presents Coronation Medals to Local Residents

John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, presented Coronation Medals to local residents in a ceremony reflecting on the significance of the occasion.
In one of his final official duties as Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, John Yakabuski had the honour of presenting the medals to recipients: Gillan Rutz and Robert (Bob) Sweet of Petawawa, Delbert (Del) O'Brien of Westmeath, and Gerald Tracey of Eganville.
Reflecting on the occasion, Yakabuski noted the historical significance of the moment, recalling that many in attendance had not yet been born when Queen Elizabeth II was crowned. Following her passing and the ascension of King Charles III, the Government of Canada announced that 30,000 Coronation Medals would be awarded to exceptional individuals across the country.
While expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to bestow the medals, Yakabuski acknowledged the challenge of selecting just four nominees from the more than 100,000 residents in his riding. The recipients, all highly regarded for their contributions to their respective communities, join a select group of Canadians recognized for their dedication and service.
