Paget Brewster announced that filming for Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 has finished, with hopes for a fourth season. The new episodes are ready but lack confirmed release dates.
Paget Brewster, star of Criminal Minds: Evolution, has shared an optimistic update regarding the upcoming third season of the hit series. Following its revival by Paramount+, which occurred just two years after the show went off-air, Brewster confirmed that filming for season 3 wrapped in December 2022.
In an interview with Collider, Brewster mentioned that all episodes for the new season are ready, yet the exact release date remains uncertain. She noted that she has also recorded additional dialogue for the episodes.
“We completed 10 more episodes in December that haven't aired yet, but we don’t know when they're going to air,” Brewster explained. She expressed hope for a fourth season as well, stating, “We’re hoping, fingers crossed, that they'll pick us up again.”
This past season ended with the Gold Star storyline, leaving viewers eager for what's next. Brewster's comments suggest the new episodes are in post-production, and due to the show's lack of heavy special effects, the turnaround time might be comparatively quick.
Speculation indicates that season 3 could premiere as early as March or April 2023, mirroring the rapid release model established with season 2’s weekly episodes. Similarly, Season 3 consists of ten episodes and is expected to follow new storylines as the BAU team tackles fresh cases.
The success of Criminal Minds: Evolution thus far, alongside its original 15-season legacy, suggests a strong prospect for renewal, contingent on viewership metrics.
