Three suspects have been indicted for the burglary of Joe Burrow's home, linked to a South American theft group. The case appears to be resolved, with significant FBI progress.
The men charged in connection with the burglary of Joe Burrow's home did not do a great job of covering their tracks.
According to the Cincinnati FBI, the defendants are all members of a South American theft group and were arrested for "federal crimes related to the burglary."
Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, have been indicted. They are all of Chilean origin and arrived in the U.S. illegally.
The men allegedly broke into the Bengals quarterback's house on December 9 while he was playing a 'Monday Night Football' game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Model Olivia Ponton was at the house at the time and reported the break-in.
The three men, as well as another who was not named, took a photo of themselves in the guest room where she slept.
Nearly USD 300,000 worth of items were retrieved by authorities.
One of the suspects was also wearing a Bengals beanie when a police officer pulled them over in January.
The individuals mentioned above are believed to be part of a larger group that plans and carries out burglaries across the country.
The NFL sent a memo to players late last year warning them of a highly organized crew of thieves from South America who have targeted athletes and celebrities following burglaries at the houses of Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce. It appears the FBI has made significant progress in their investigations.
Meanwhile, the case involving the Bengals QB looks to be closed.
