His death occurred on Wednesday in New Orleans while he was on assignment to cover Super Bowl 59. Manzano was in the city to report on the match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports.
Although the cause of death has not been disclosed, Telemundo Kansas City stated in their announcement that they are "cooperating with authorities" regarding the investigation. The statement read, "We are sorry to share that Adan Manzano, reporter and sports anchor for Telemundo Kansas City passed away yesterday in New Orleans while on assignment to cover the Super Bowl for Telemundo KC and Tico Sports. We are cooperating with authorities as they investigate this tragic event."
They described Manzano as an exceptional professional and a rising star whose dedication and talent shone through in his work. The statement further expressed, "We will deeply miss Adam, his passion for sports and the contributions he made to the local community."
Condolences from the Sporting Kansas City soccer team were also shared on X/Twitter, highlighting the unexpected loss. Tragically, Adan Manzano's wife, Ashleigh Boyd, passed away in a car accident last April. The couple had a daughter who survived the incident while being in the vehicle at the time.
