radio hosts reveal death clause in contracts
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson discuss the terms of their contracts, including a death clause, revealing their plans for future content and personal ambitions.
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson have disclosed a serious death clause in their contracts during a segment on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.
The renowned radio duo, who have collaborated for over 20 years, secured a substantial $200 million agreement with Australian Radio Network (ARN) in November 2023, ensuring their presence on airwaves until 2034, with each earning a minimum of $10 million per year.
During the show, Henderson revealed her requirement that she should be able to exit the show if Sandilands were to die. She expressed uncertainty about continuing with someone else.
Conversely, Sandilands mentioned that he would proceed without her, claiming, "We drop your name. I get your income," adding that he wouldn’t want to let go of good content, even if it meant continuing on air while grieving.
Additionally, Sandilands's contract states he must travel via private jet or in first class for work-related overseas travel.
As part of their historic deal, the pair began broadcasting in Melbourne in April last year. Henderson has also discussed her future career aspirations, indicating that she is willing to leave her job if it no longer aligns with her personal happiness and goals.
She emphasised her desire for personal fulfilment over financial security, sharing her recent achievement of purchasing a beach house, a long-held dream.
Reflecting on her journey, Henderson stated, "I am so fine to walk away from all of that, really fine," reinforcing her commitment to prioritising her happiness.
