Hunter, known for his versatility as a 'swingman' capable of playing both forward and back, played a total of 151 AFL games in his career. He was instrumental in West Coast Eagles' triumph in 2006, famously scoring the final goal in the Grand Final against Sydney, solidifying their victory.
In his career-best season in 2006, Hunter kicked an impressive 29 goals, contributing significantly to the team's success. Although he shone brightly in the early stages of his career, finishing second to Darren Glass in the Eagles' best and fairest award in 2007, he faced challenges with injuries over the following two seasons, ultimately leading to his retirement in 2009.
