Former President Trump demands information on assassination attempts against him, questioning the motives and backgrounds of his assailants as investigations continue.
Criminal defense attorney Vik Bajaj joined 'Fox & Friends First' to discuss his thoughts on new developments in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump and Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex trafficking trial.
According to reports, President Trump has instructed the Secret Service to provide him with all available information regarding his two would-be assassins from last summer's presidential campaign.
“I want to find out about the two assassins,” Trump stated in an interview with the New York Post on Friday. “Why did the one guy have six cellphones, and why did the other guy have [foreign] apps?”
Trump believes that the Secret Service has withheld information due to President Biden’s administration. “I’m entitled to know. And they held it back long enough,” Trump added. “No more excuses.”
In an incident on July 13, Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was subsequently killed by the Secret Service after injuring two others and killing one rally attendee.
Two months later, Ryan Routh, 59, was allegedly caught waiting over 12 hours with a rifle near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach while Trump was golfing on September 15.
A Secret Service agent observed Routh aiming a rifle and fired at him, leading to Routh fleeing and his arrest that same day. He is currently in federal custody, having pleaded not guilty to several charges, including attempted assassination of a presidential candidate and assault on a federal officer. His trial is slated for September 8, 2025.
Reports indicate that six cellphones were discovered in Routh's vehicle after his arrest. Additionally, Crooks had encrypted messaging accounts based in Belgium, New Zealand, and Germany, as per Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., involved in a congressional task force looking into the assassination attempts.
The White House has yet to respond to inquiries from Fox News Digital regarding the matter.
