President Trump has communicated with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in an effort to negotiate an end to the ongoing Ukraine war, he shared in an exclusive interview aboard Air Force One.
Trump declined to disclose the number of conversations he has had with Putin, but expressed confidence that Putin "does care" about the lives lost in the conflict. "He wants to see people stop dying," Trump noted as he described the tragic loss of life, referring to two million young, beautiful individuals lost for no reason.
The former president insisted that this war "never would have happened" if he had been in office in 2022, highlighting his previously established good relationship with Putin, in stark contrast to his successor. "Biden was an embarrassment to our nation," Trump stated emphatically.
Trump revealed he has a definite plan to swiftly end the war, stating, "Every day people are dying. This war is so bad in Ukraine. I want to end this damn thing."
During the conversation, Trump addressed National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, emphasizing the urgency of initiating meetings to foster peace. "Let's get these meetings going. They want to meet," he urged, drawing attention to the fatalities among young soldiers on both sides of the conflict.
In a forthcoming meeting at the Munich Security Conference, Vice President Vance is slated to meet with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump has expressed intentions to negotiate a $500 million deal with Zelensky for access to Ukraine's rare-earth minerals and gas in exchange for security guarantees in any potential peace agreement.
Regarding Iran, Trump stated, "I would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear. I would prefer that to bombing the hell out of it." He reflected on the desire for peaceful engagement, asserting, "They don't want to die. Nobody wants to die," and suggested that a deal could prevent conflict.
However, Trump refrained from sharing specifics about any potential negotiations with Iran, stating, "I can't say that because it's too nasty. I won't bomb them."
