Stevie Wonder Joins Elite Group of Album of the Year Winners
Stevie Wonder has made history by joining an esteemed list of singers and superstars who have won the Album of the Year award at the Grammys. His journey began in 1974 when he became the first Black artist to win this prestigious award for his 16th studio album, "Innervisions."
Wonder's success continued in 1975 with the album "Fulfillingness' First Finale," making him only the second artist to win the award in consecutive years, a feat first accomplished by Frank Sinatra in the 1960s.
In addition to Sinatra, Wonder's name is now mentioned alongside Paul Simon and Taylor Swift as one of only four artists to have won Album of the Year three different times. His third win came in 1977 for "Songs in the Key of Life," a testament to his extraordinary talent as he remains the only artist in Grammy history to achieve this with three consecutive studio albums.
