The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 includes Eric Allen, Jared Allen, Antonio Gates, and Sterling Sharpe. They will be enshrined in August 2025 in Canton, Ohio.
Jeff Legwold, a senior writer at ESPN, has covered the Denver Broncos and NFL for over 20 years. He helped announce the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 during the NFL Honors show in New Orleans.
The inducted members include cornerbacks Eric Allen and Jared Allen, tight end Antonio Gates, and wide receiver Sterling Sharpe. Sharpe, whose career ended early due to a congenital neck condition, was selected as the seniors finalist.
This year's class was made by the Hall's board of selectors during a virtual meeting, with the enshrinement ceremony scheduled for August in Canton, Ohio.
Eric Allen, entering his 19th year of eligibility, boasted a stellar career with 54 interceptions and was a six-time Pro Bowl selection. His 94-yard pick-six against the New York Jets in 1993 remains a defining moment.
Jared Allen, renowned for his high-energy play, finished his career with 136 sacks and four safeties, a league record. He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection, overcoming personal challenges early in his career.
Antonio Gates, who transitioned from basketball, ended his NFL career having caught 955 passes and scoring 116 touchdowns, making him the tight end with the most touchdown catches.
Sterling Sharpe, despite a curtailed career, was a formidable player, leading the league in receptions multiple times and setting various records.
All four players have made significant impacts on the game and will be honored later this year.
