Elon Musk has launched a poll on X to determine if controversial staffer Marko Elez, who resigned after making inflammatory comments, should be rehired.
Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made headlines on Friday by launching a poll on his social media platform X. The poll inquired whether a staffer from his DOGE team, who recently resigned, should be rehired after making inflammatory statements.
Musk's tweet read, "Bring back @DOGE staffer who made inappropriate statements via a now deleted pseudonym?" Users were given the options of "yes" and "no" to respond.
The staffer in question, Marko Elez, resigned on Thursday after The Wall Street Journal reported on his activity, including posts that advocated for racism and eugenics. Following inquiries about his connection to an account that made several inflammatory posts, Elez stepped down from his position.
One of the controversial posts from the account stated, "Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool," as reported by the Journal.
