Head teacher apologises for data breach at Wellsway School
A head teacher has apologised after sensitive data of hundreds of pupils was shared with parents at Wellsway School, leading to an investigation by the Information Commissioner's Office.
A head teacher has issued an apology following the sharing of private data belonging to hundreds of pupils with two parents.
Wellsway School, located in Keynsham near Bristol, is now under investigation by the Information Commissioner's Office after 86,000 lines of sensitive information were emailed to a couple.
This data was provided after the parents submitted a Freedom of Information request, alleging that the secondary school's withdrawal room was being used excessively.
Upon discovering the data breach, the school stated that it had "immediately followed through with all procedures and informed parents."
