Primrose Dunlop, an Australian socialite and heiress, has passed away at the age of 70. She was the daughter of society icon Lady Primrose Potter, and was in line to inherit a fortune of $60 million.
Dunlop entered full-time care in 2022 due to frontotemporal dementia. Known to her friends as "Pitty Pat," she made headlines in 1990 when her extravagant wedding to flight attendant Lorenzo Montesini was abruptly called off just four days before the ceremony.
The wedding was cancelled after it was revealed that Montesini had been in a long-term relationship with another partner, whom he met during his youth in Vietnam.
In a poignant gesture, Lady Potter made a $1 million donation to The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in her daughter's name, stating, "My daughter, Primrose, has lost her battle with frontotemporal dementia - a heart-wrenching disease."
The family has announced that a private memorial will be held this week.
