A man was filmed bathing in a public children's pool in New Zealand, causing outrage among parents and prompting a viral response. Comments ranged from disgust to humour about the incident.
A man has been filmed taking a bath in a public pool in New Zealand, cleaning himself with soap in the kids' pool as shocked onlookers watched in disbelief.
The clip has already gone viral with many viewers labelling the unhygienic act "disgusting".
The man wore grey shorts in the pool as he lathered himself up with soap, before giving himself a hearty scrub in the shallow water.
Kids and parents splashed around just metres away.
"What the ... he's got soap, aye. Bro, it's not a bath," a man was heard saying.
The man continued to scrub every crevice of his body.
"Oi, he's washing his f****** a**," another man can be heard saying.
"Oh, stop it!" a woman chimes in.
"What the f***? For f***'s sake. Alright, kids, get out of the pool," a man is heard saying.
A number of reports claim the pool was Memorial Park pool in Palmerston North.
The clip attracted thousands of comments, with some people outraged.
"This is how I got severely sick in 2021, I was in a spa pool and this guy thought it was a great idea to have to bath in the spa, he was from the streets, within two days I was severely sick with shakes, vomiting -- hospital told me I had an infection in the blood, asked me where I had been?" one woman said.
"What's wrong with this guy??? No common sense and clearly no running water at home," another said.
Others were more liberal.
"The kiddy's pool is 50 per cent p*** anyway, nice work, champ," one man said.
"Saving (on the) water bill," another added.
The Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies were also less than impressed with the act when the clip was played on Friday.
"Can you imagine the ring of scum around him? It would be floating on top," Gillies said.
"It reminds me of that time I shaved my back in a kids' pool, but I got kicked out -- and then they had to drain the pool and all the hair got stuck," Emdur joked.
