Abbie Chatfield opens up about Valentine's Day plans with Adam Hyde
If I could be a fly on the wall of any celebrity relationship, it would undoubtedly be Abbie Chatfield and Adam Hyde's.
The way they look at each other during her podcast recordings -- so raw and primitive -- that you almost feel like the table between them shouldn't even exist. Then there's the way Adam turns around mid-set at Peking Duk, just to mouth the words "I love you" to her.
And it's not even that I want to BE Abbie, because that would take away half the magic. I just want to be around them, learn from them and find out exactly how to find my own version of Adam Hyde before Valentine's Day.
Luckily for me, I got the opportunity to do just that.
Abbie, who is currently an ambassador for CeraVe's new AM Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 50, bared all for our one-on-one chat.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY?
"Adam has a show in Canberra but he said he's going to make up for it another time. But the thing is, with him, he does things two or three times a week where he organises us to go get a massage or go to dinner. He'll be like, 'I've booked this really cool restaurant and we have massages after'. I've never actually had a Valentine's Day with someone that I actually like."
HAVE YOU BOUGHT HIM A VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT?
"I feel anxious because I thought I'd win the present thing for Christmas. I got him all these presents, everything was thought out, and then he won with the necklace [which was a replica of her Nan's one with Abbie and Adam's birthstones]. I'm anxious he's going to get me a really good present and I'm going to be like, 'I didn't get you anything'.
"The thing is, he would actually be happy with me giving him a macaroni necklace. You know what I mean? I've considered getting him a little locket to put on a necklace, like a little square locket that has my face in there."
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR PERFECT VALENTINE'S DAY?
"Going to get a massage and then coming home and watching 90 Day Fiance or sitting at the beach having fish and chips with Walter [Abbie's dog] and that's kind of it."
WHEN DO YOU FIND ADAM THE MOST ATTRACTIVE?
"Either when he is coming out of the shower or when he is coming off stage and he's dripping. I like him wet, whenever he is damp. I f**king love it."
WHEN DOES ADAM FIND YOU THE MOST ATTRACTIVE?
"Should I call him?" Abbie asks as she picks up her phone and proceeds to call Adam.
He picks up within a few seconds and immediately answers the question as if he's been dying to let her know. He tells her: "When you're sweaty after you've been jumping around working out. Instinct comes over me when you're covered in sweat. I like that. I also think in the mornings when you are warm and fuzzy and cosy, I find that quite attractive because you're kind of like a soft, little ball of vulnerable love."
WHAT'S THE SEXIEST THING ADAM DOES?
"Every morning he'll send me a voice note after he leaves or when he wakes up and it'll be like, 'Good morning princess, hope you had the best sleep. I just want to let you know that I love you.' And it often gets horny..."
HOW DO YOU KEEP THINGS SPICY IN THE BEDROOM?
"We have sex every day, multiple times a day. I think I just love him so much that I just want to be near him and I think it's the same for him. He's just the most fun. He's just so hot. Everything that he does I think is so hot. I just always genuinely want to have sex with him."
WHAT MAKES THE SEX SO GOOD?
"His perfect penis. Also, I've turned into a pillow princess. I do nothing now. He does everything. I literally do nothing. He organises what role play we're doing, he just decides everything. And in the best way, I don't want to make any more decisions. He just eats me out for ages. Makes me come three times."
WOULD YOU EVER OPEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP UP?
"I don't think I'd do polyamory. Adam and I actually spoke about this. We drove down from Brisbane the other day and he was like, 'would you ever be poly?' and I was like, 'it just seems like so much admin'. If people can do it, they're organised - they must all be Virgos. So in theory maybe, but I feel like in reality...how would you store all that information?
"Maybe being open, but not right now. I was open in all my other relationships and I didn't really mind, but I feel like with Adam, I don't know. Because the sex is so good with Adam I don't want anyone else to experience that perfect penis. We'd have a threesome, but it's hard in Australia because how would we find anyone that doesn't know either of us? We might go to LA or something and just stand at bars together and just..."
ADAM SEEMS PERFECT, WHAT'S THE ONE THING THAT ANNOYS YOU ABOUT HIM?
"There actually is something that I haven't told him, but it's kind of cute. He's really stubborn, but not in a way that negatively affects me. He always figures everything out for everyone and particularly for me, but if he has something that I can genuinely help with, he won't let me help. And it isn't even a pride thing, it's like he thinks that he's being annoying.
Like he's getting a surgery soon and he said, 'I think I'm going to go and get a hotel room because I don't want you to feel like you have to take care of me and I don't want to be just in bed all day taking care of me'. And I'm like, 'but you take care of me' and he said, 'yeah, but you're my princess.'
ANY WEDDING PLANS...?
"When we were first seeing each other, the day he said, 'I want to be your boyfriend', we were listening to music and Bless The Telephone by Labi Siffre came on and I was like, 'what is this?' and he was like, 'I don't know, it just came on'. And every time it comes on, we lay there and we cry together. It's the most beautiful song. And it's the song we'll be walking down the aisle to when we get married, for sure. Adam will be losing it crying."
WOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR LAST NAME TO HYDE?
"My last name isn't even legally Chatfield. Dad's name is Chatfield, but he left when I was born and has nothing to do with me. So I changed it legally to another family name. But [Chatfield] is fine for a stage name. So yeah, I'd take Hyde - easy to pronounce, easy to spell. It's a nice name."
WILL ALL THE ATTENTION ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP, DO YOU FEEL PRESSURE FOR IT TO WORK OUT?
"Even if I broke up with Adam today, and I said this from the moment we started getting together, I would still be much better off because he's taught me that I'm worth being loved and treated nicely, and I wouldn't be with someone that treats me bad ever again.
"So I would either be alone or I'd be with someone nice again, more likely alone because no one compares to Adam. I mean, what compares to a man that writes you songs? So I think that there is a lot of pressure, but I think that if we did break up, it would be a nice teaching moment in the benefits of a positive relationship rather than an abusive relationship. Obviously I'd rather die than any of this happening."
WHAT'S ONE GOLDEN RULE YOU BOTH STAND BY WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR RELATIONSHIP?
"We have a new rule, which is that we don't communicate about things via text or voice note because sometimes tone has gotten lost and then I get triggered, then I spiral a little bit. But also, I think the biggest thing is after having an argument asking, 'is there anything more that you need from this?' because sometimes you feel like it's done, then you're like, 'I wish you would just admit this', 'I wish she would just say this' and then it builds up again and three days later you're having the same conversation.
"Adam never even calls them arguments, he's like, 'that wasn't an argument, that was us working on how to communicate with each other in order to make ourselves stronger'.
