The trade between the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers for player Mark Williams has been officially rescinded, as announced by the Lakers on Saturday night.
The Lakers clarified that the decision to rescind the trade was due to the Hornets' failure to meet a condition of the agreement.
Initially, L.A. had planned to send Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick, and a 2030 pick swap to the Hornets in exchange for Williams. This trade was first reported late Wednesday night.
Furthermore, it is important to note that the trade had not been made official, and Mark Williams was absent during the Lakers' victory on Saturday because the deal was still "pending," as explained by coach JJ Redick.
