Small Airplane Crashes into Potomac River Near Reagan National Airport
A small airplane crashed into the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport in Virginia on Wednesday night, according to fire officials.
Fireboats responded to the scene after the aircraft went down in Arlington. The DC Fire and EMS Department posted updates to X just after 9 p.m.
As a result of the crash, planes were grounded and the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily closed the airport, as reported by WIJA.
Reagan National Airport will remain closed until 11 p.m., and the ground stop is expected to last until 10:30 p.m.
