Peter Navy Tuiasosopo, known for his notable film and television roles, has passed away at 61 due to heart complications. He had a background in football and transitioned to acting in the early 1990s.
The sports world and Hollywood are in mourning following the sudden death of Peter Navy Tuiasosopo.
Tuiasosopo was known for his roles in films such as Street Fighter, Necessary Roughness, and The Fast and the Furious. His passing on Monday was announced by his son, Manoah Peter Tuiasosopo, via Facebook.
"With a heavy heart, my family and I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Our father Peter N. Tuiasosopo passed away this morning at 3:16 am," he wrote.
While the cause of death was not initially specified, Manoah later informed TMZ that his father died from heart complications in Phoenix, Arizona.
Tuiasosopo began his acting career in 1991, debuting as Manumana in The Slender. He gained recognition for his role as detective Al Hamoki in the television series Danger Theatre, alongside Adam West.
Other notable television appearances included the character of Yoshi Nakamura in the Disney series Kickin' It.
In addition to his television work, Tuiasosopo's film credits included roles in 12 Rounds with John Cena, Batman & Robin, BASEketball, Charlie's Angels, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and The Scorpion King.
Peter Navy Tuiasosopo tragically passed away at the age of 61. His legacy in both acting and sports will be remembered.
Before pursuing acting, Tuiasosopo played college football at Utah State and went undrafted in the 1987 NFL Draft. He later played for two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.
